Hege Lise Soholt

Hege is a fully qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor having gained a diploma and masters degree at University of Cambridge. She is also a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Having worked for a number of years as a therapist and child counsellor in primary and secondary schools in London, Essex and East Sussex she has now joined our team at Hamblys.

The counselling Hege provides is integrative, which means it draws from various models and can be tailored to the individual. In the main it recognises the importance of building a good relationship so that clients can feel safe enough to talk about or creatively explore the issues that have brought them to therapy.

As a therapist, Hege will not tell clients what she thinks the problem and solution is, but rather she will work to help clients express what’s going on for them and help them to gain some understanding of their feelings and behaviour. This is because in talking about or creatively expressing what’s going on for us we can gain a sense of release and relief from symptoms. Also, having a better understanding of ourselves and our reactions can help us to build self-esteem and develop better coping strategies.

Sessions costs £45 and can be held in a private room at Hamblys Clinic or at the child’s school. To make an enquiry please visit – www.counsellingpractice.org.uk/contact-us
